Having served the past 26 years as Head of School at four wonderful Catholic independent schools, including Visitation School (MN), St. Michael’s Catholic Academy (TX), Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart (IL) and, most recently, Villa Duchesne in St. Louis (MO), Dawn brings a depth of experience to her work with Educational Directions. Prior to her first Headship, she also held various posts including Lower School Director and Upper School Director, while also serving as Associate Head of School at Ravenscroft School (NC).
Across her career, Dawn has chaired a variety of organizations as well as served on a number of boards including the Saint John’s Preparatory School Board of Regents, as well as the Independent Schools Association of the Central States Board of Trustees (ISACS). She has led numerous accreditation teams and has consulted with many schools in other capacities across the years.
Dawn holds degrees from Ursuline College (OH), Western Illinois University, and Nova Southeastern (FL), and has also studied at Duke University, Cleveland State, and Teachers College Columbia University, where she completed the Klingenstein Center’s Head of School Fellowship.
Early on, Dawn’s work in the world of schools quickly morphed from job to career to vocation. Having an opportunity to touch the future through the lives of students has been a beacon for her through the years.
